The sunlit room buzzed with a wonderfully beautiful chaos: lip gloss, hairspray, laughter. The bride—surrounded by her loved ones—was slowly becoming the queen of the day.

Often, it’s not the surroundings that make a moment special, but the connection between two people. That’s exactly what I experienced when I photographed Mara and Nabil on a rooftop in Zurich. The city lay beneath us, but the focus was clearly on the deep bond they share.
